About RecallDex
Ben Williams
Founder & Editor
Ben Williams created RecallDex to make product safety information easier for consumers and researchers to navigate. He's especially interested in turning fragmented public recall notices into clear, searchable records that help people act on safety information faster.
Our Mission
RecallDex exists to bring clarity to product safety. We believe every consumer deserves fast, readable access to recall data — whether it's a car seat, a medication, or a kitchen appliance. Our goal is to make fragmented government notices searchable, understandable, and actionable.
What We Do
RecallDex aggregates product recall data from multiple U.S. government agencies into a single, searchable database. We pull notices from:
- CPSC — Consumer Product Safety Commission (household products, toys, electronics)
- FDA — Food and Drug Administration (food safety and pharmaceutical recalls)
- NHTSA — National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (vehicle and equipment recalls)
We normalize dates, categories, manufacturers, and remedy fields so you can search and compare recalls across all agencies in one place.
Independence Disclaimer
RecallDex is an independent project. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by CPSC, FDA, NHTSA, or any government agency. All data is sourced from publicly available records.
