Description

MODEL FX-3 MOTORCYCLE HELMETS MANUFACTURED PRIOR TO APRIL 2002. THE CHIN STRAP WAS SEWN WITH ONE BAR TACK AS APPOSED TO TWO BAR TACKS. THIS DOES NOT COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 218, "MOTORCYCLE HELMETS."

Injuries / Consequence

IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH, THE HELMET MAY NOT ADEQUATELY PROTECT THE WEARER FROM SERIOUS INJURY OR POSSIBLE DEATH.

Remedy

AFX HAS NOTIFIED ITS DEALERS AND WILL REPLACE THE AFFECTED HELMETS WITH A 100% COMPLIANT HELMET FREE OF CHARGE. NOTIFICATION TO KNOWN CUSTOMERS BEGAN MARCH 3, 2003.
