Description

EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: AUTO METER FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE AND SENDING UNITS, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE "SHORT-SWEEP" GAUGES, PART NOS. 2659, 3309, 3509, 4309, 4409, AND 5709, MANUFACTURED BETWEEN OCTOBER 1, 1999, AND MARCH 31, 2002. DUE TO A PREMATURE FAILURE, THESE UNITS MAY LEAK FUEL.

Injuries / Consequence

IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, THE VEHICLE COULD CATCH FIRE.

Remedy

AUTO METER PRODUCTS WILL NOTIFY ITS CUSTOMERS TO REMOVE THE SENDING UNITS IMMEDIATELY. CUSTOMERS WILL RECEIVE REPLACEMENT PARTS FREE OF CHARGE WHEN THEY BECOME AVAILABLE. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN MAY 16, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT AUTO METER PRODUCTS AT 815-895-8141.
