Description

FORD IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2011 F-650 TRUCKS, MANUFACTURED FROM FEBRUARY 2, 2011, THROUGH FEBRUARY 17, 2011, AND EQUIPPED WITH A MERITOR MFS08 FRONT STEER AXLE. THE BOLTS ATTACHING THE STEERING ARM TO THE STEERING KNUCKLE WERE NOT PROPERLY TIGHTENED. THIS CONDITION CAN RESULT IN THE STEERING ARM LOOSENING OR SEPARATING.

Injuries / Consequence

LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL MAY INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy

FORD WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE STEERING ARM AND STEERING KNUCKLE, AND REPAIR THE VEHICLES AS NECESSARY, FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JANUARY 20, 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FORD MOTOR COMPANY CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER AT 1-866-436-7332.
