Description

ON CERTAIN TRANSIT BUSES EQUIPPED WITH SURE POWER BATTERY EQUALIZERS, P/N 52210 24V/12V 100 AMP SERIES 1, THE EQUALIZERS MAY EXPERIENCE A FAILURE MODE. THESE EQUALIZERS USED AN INDUCTOR WITH THE COILS PROTECTED BY INSULATION. OVER TIME, THE INDUCTOR INSULATION MAY DEGRADE CREATING A SHORT.

Injuries / Consequence

THE SHORTED INDUCTOR MAY CAUSE THE BATTERY EQUALIZER TO SMOKE OR BURN, AND POSSIBLY RESULT IN A FIRE.

Remedy

SURE POWER WILL NOTIFY DC'S CUSTOMERS AND REPLACE THE EQUALIZERS FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT SURE POWER AT 1-800-845-6269 EXT. 113.
