Description

Cequent Consumer Products, Inc. (Cequent) is recalling certain model Reese Explore Bike Carriers, part numbers 1392900 (two-bike trunk mount bike carrier), 1393100 (four-bike hitch mount bike carrier), and 6314400 (four-bike hitch mount bike carrier), manufactured from January 1, 2015, through July 17, 2015. The affected bike carriers have cradles that may have been molded incorrectly, which can cause the cradle to rip and fail.

Injuries / Consequence

If the cradle fails, a bicycle on the cradle may partially or fully fall from the rack, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Remedy

Cequent will notify owners and will provide a cradle replacement kit. The recall began September 28, 2015. Owners may contact Cequent customer service at 1-877-208-2573 or by email at [email protected].
