Brake Hose may Chafe and Leak

Recalled: April 2, 2013 ~30 units affected 13V117

Description

Jerr-Dan Corporation is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 Standard Duty Wrecker vehicles manufactured October 4, 2010, through March 1, 2012. The affected vehicles are built on a Ford Super Duty Chassis and equipped with the 6.2L Triton Gasoline engine fitted with a Muncie Power Products clutch pump power take off (PTO). To install the PTO, the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module was relocated. In its new location, a brake hose from the ABS module may chafe against other components. On July 10, 2013, Jerr-Dan notified the agency that it would be recalling 12 Muncie Clutch Pumps PTO kits sold through its service department.

Injuries / Consequence

Brake line chafing may lead a loss of brake pressure resulting in additional distances being required to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
