Description

THE BRAKE PEDAL ASSEMBLY HAS A PUSHROD PIN THAT IS TOO SMALL AND IT IS INSTALLED IN THE WRONG POSITION, CAUSING AN INCREASED BRAKE PEDAL RATIO AND A DECREASED MASTER CYLINDER STROKE.

Injuries / Consequence

THE REDUCED MASTER CYLINDER STROKE RESULTS IN FAILURE TOMEET THE PARTIAL SYSTEM FAILURE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS 105, "HYDRAULIC BRAKESYSTEMS". A FURTHER REDUCTION IN BRAKING ABILITY AT A TIME WHEN PARTIAL SYSTEMFAILURE HAS OCCURRED COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

Remedy

REPLACE THE BRAKE ASSEMBLY.
