BRAKES:VALVE SOLENOID
Description
PISTON STICKING IN THE VALVE CAN OCCUR DUE TO EXPOSURE TO HIGH CONCENTRATIONS OF FLUID CONTAMINANTS WHICH MAY COLLECT IN THE BRAKING SYSTEM. AS A RESULT, NO AIR WOULD BE DELIVERED TO THE BRAKE CHAMBERS SUPPLIED BY THE ANTI-LOCK VALVE. LACK OF AIR TO THE AIR CHAMBERS WILL RESULT IN A "NO BRAKE" CONDITION ON THE AFFECTED AXLE. THIS CONSTITUTES A NON-COMPLIANCE TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 121, "AIR BRAKE SYSTEMS".
