Description

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TANK TRAILERS. THESE TRAILERS FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 223, "REAR IMPACT GUARDS." THE REAR GUARDS HAVE BEEN FOUND TO SUSTAIN 4.6 PERCENT LESS LOAD THAN PRESCRIBED IN THE APPLICABLE REGULATIONS.

Remedy

THE LOWER REAR AREA OF THE SUBJECT BUMPERS WILL BE REINFORCED TO WITHSTAND THE SET REGULATORY LOAD. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN AUGUST 30, 2001.
