Description

Polar Tank Trailer, LLC. (Polar) is recalling certain 2018 SRJ7 trailers manufactured with Meritor MTA/MTP trailer suspensions. The brake caliper bolts on these axles may not be properly torqued which can allow the caliper to detach from the mounting flange.

Injuries / Consequence

If the caliper bolts are improperly torqued and the caliper detaches from the mounting flange, a loss of braking ability would occur, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Polar has notified the vehicle owners, instructing them to check the caliper bolts per the supplied bulletin, receiving reimbursement from Meritor. The recall began on October 4, 2017.
