Description

DUCATI IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010 MULTISTRADA 1200 S TOURING EDITION MOTORCYCLES. THE MOTORCYCLE'S CENTER STAND MOUNTING SCREWS MAY COME LOOSE DURING NORMAL OPERATION. THIS SITUATION COULD CAUSE THE CENTER STAND TO POSSIBLY BECOME DISPLACED FROM ITS INTENDED MOUNTING POSITION RESULTING IN DAMAGE TO THE MOTORCYCLE AND A POTENTIAL HAZARD TO THE RIDER.

Injuries / Consequence

ANY DISPLACEMENT OF THE CENTER STAND COULD ADVERSELY AFFECT THE DRIVER'S ABILITY TO CONTROL THE MOTORCYCLE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy

DEALER WILL REMOVE THE CENTER STAND SCREWS APPLY THREAD-LOCKING COMPOUND AND REINSTALL THE SCREWS TO THE SPECIFIED TORQUE. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 13, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DUCATI AT 1-800-231-6696.
