TIRE DESCRIPTION: ELDORADO BRAVADA STEEL RADIAL, P155/80R13 MANUFACTURED MARCH 12-MARCH 15, 1997 (U9E4EJ9107), MARCH 16-MARCH 22, 1997 (U9E4EJ9117) AND MARCH 23-MARCH 29, 1997 (U9E4EJ9127). AN ALUMINUM PIN WAS FOUND TO BE PROTRUDING INTO THE MOLD CAVITY. THE DAMAGED AREA OF THE TIRE APPEARS ON THE SIDE OPPOSITE THE DOT SERIAL NUMBER IN THE UPPER SIDEWALL.
Injuries / Consequence
THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE THE TIRE TO LEAK AIR. SHOULD THE AIR LOSS NOT BE DETECTED, THE LOSS OF THE INFLATING AIR COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THESE TIRES AS WELL AS MOUNT AND BALANCE THE NEW TIRES.
