January 26, 1995 Release # 95-071 WASHINGTON, D.C. - CPSC, Turtle Wax Inc. of Chicago is voluntarily recalling about 37,400 containers of Turtle Wax Protectant 10-oz. finger pump spray T-118 (four container codes E20410, E20411, E21410, and E21411); and about 2,000 containers of Turtle Wax Formula 2001 Super Protectant 16-oz. trigger spray T-97 (one container code G054601).The Turtle Wax Protectant and the Formula 2001 Super Protectant may be contaminated with bacteria. While this bacteria is commonly found in the human skin and in soil, under certain conditions this bacteria can cause a minor skin rash or other problems for someone using the product.Turtle Wax shipped the recalled products, which sold in select stores for between $1.99 to $6.99, from May 1994 to August 1994.Turtle Wax has not received any reports of injury from using the protectants. CPSC and Turtle Wax are conducting this recall to prevent the possibility of injury.Consumers can determine whether they have purchased the recalled protectants by checking the container for the above listed codes.
