Description

Altec Industries Inc. (Altec) is recalling certain model year 2015 Effer 440 and 470 Knuckle Boom Cranes manufactured January 1, 2015, to December 31, 2015. The affected cranes have pedestals that may crack in the welded area.

Injuries / Consequence

The cracks may lead to pedestal separation and the crane falling, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Altec will notify owners and dealers will inspect the pedestal for cracked welds and will replace the mounting bolts for the rotation bearing. The recall began on March 3, 2016. Owners may contact Altec customer service at 1-800-860-0183. Altec's number for this recall is CSN 629.
