Description

Continental Tire the Americas, LLC (Continental Tire) is recalling certain ContiScoot tires. Cracks may develop in the tread grooves longer than 3/16 inch. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 119, "New Pneumatic Tires-Other Than Passenger Cars." Please refer to the 573 report for specific tire size information.

Injuries / Consequence

Cracks in the tread can lead to tread separation, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Continental Tire will notify owners and replace the affected tires, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 8, 2022. Owners may contact Continental Tire customer service at 1-888-799-2168.
