Description
CUSTOM BUILT GOOSENECK TRAILERS, INC. (CBGT) IS RECALLING 1 25 AND 1 40 MODEL YEAR 2012 TRAILERS, MANUFACTURED BETWEEN JANUARY 14, 2011, AND JANUARY 18, 2012, EQUIPPED WITH AN ELECTRIC/HYDRAULIC (E/H) BRAKE ACTUATOR PUMP. THIS PUMP MAY NOT HAVE BEEN PROPERLY HEAT TREATED. THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE PREMATURE WEAR OF SOME CRITICAL COMPONENTS IN THIS PUMP WHICH CAN RENDER THE UNIT INOPERABLE.
Injuries / Consequence
THE E/H BRAKE ACTUATOR PROVIDES BRAKING POWER TO THE TRAILER BRAKES. FAILURE OF THE ACTUATOR CAN RESULT IN THE LOSS OF BRAKING EFFORT BY THE TRAILER, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

CBGT WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ELECTRIC/HYDRAULIC (E/H) BRAKE ACTUATOR PUMPS, FREE OF CHARGE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CUSTOM BUILT GOOSENECK TRAILERS, INC. AT 1-903-383-2896.
