Electric Door Actuator May Lead to Fire
Description
Starcraft Bus is recalling certain model year 2009 and 2010 Allstar transit buses manufactured August 20, 2009, through March 30, 2010 and equipped with A & M Systems-brand passenger entrance/exit doors. Voltage spikes may damage the electrical components and electrical circuits of the door actuator, causing the circuit board to develop high resistance.
Injuries / Consequence
High resistance may cause the board to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
Remedy
Starcraft Bus will notify owners and dealers will replace the affected circuit boards, free of charge. The recall began on March 17, 2014. Owners may contact Starcraft Bus at 1-800-348-7440.
