Description
DURING CONTINUOUS HEATER/BLOWER OPERATION, INSUFFICIENT CONTACT BETWEEN THE METAL PART OF THE FUSE AND THE FUSE HOLDER MAY GENERATE EXCESSIVE HEAT. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: IF LONGER FUSE WHICH IS AVAILABLE IN THE U.S. IS INSTALLED, EXCESSIVE HEAT COULD CAUSE THE INSULATION ON THE ELECTRICAL WIRING AROUND THE FUSE BOX TO MELT; THE HEATER AND DEFROSTER WOULD FAIL, OBSTRUCTING THE DRIVERS VIEW THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD.
Remedy
REPLACE FUSE IN THE HEATER/BLOWER CIRCUIT WITH A CIRCUIT BREAKER.
