Description

Braun Industries, Inc. (Braun Ambulances) is recalling certain 2021-2026 Chief XL I, Chief XL III, 2021-2025 Express Plus I, Liberty I, 2025 Express III, Select Chief XL I, and Super Chief I emergency vehicles equipped with a Pran system. The battery isolator may fail, causing a loss of electrical systems such as interior, exterior lighting, and patient support systems.

Injuries / Consequence

A loss of exterior lights can reduce the visibility of the vehicle to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash. A loss of patient support systems can delay care, increasing the risk of injury.

Remedy

Braun Service or an authorized dealer will update the software, modify wiring, and replace the battery isolator, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 12, 2026. Owners may contact Braun Ambulances' customer service at 1-877-344-9990. Braun Ambulances number for this recall is 2025-02.
