Description

ELECTRONIC GAS AND BRAKE SYSTEM, MODELS EGB-IIF AND EGB-SS AND MANUFACTURED BETWEEN OCTOBER 28, 1994, AND DECEMBER 21, 2001. THE POTENTIOMETER SHAFT IS NOT SUFFICIENT TO WITHSTAND REPEATED EXCESSIVE LOADING AND CAN BREAK.

Injuries / Consequence

IF THE POTENTIOMETER SHAFT IS BROKEN, THE DRIVER COULD LOSE CONTROL OF THE PRIMARY GAS AND BRAKE WHICH COULD RESULT IN A VEHICLE CRASH.

Remedy

EMC WILL NOTIFY ITS CUSTOMERS AND REPAIR THE ELECTRONIC GAS AND BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM WITH A LARGER POTENTIOMETER SHAFT AND ADD AN ADDITIONAL BEARING FREE OF CHARGE. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN SEPTEMBER 5, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT EMC AT 225-927-5558.
