Description

Temsa is recalling certain 2014-2020 TS45 buses. The external release handle for the roof emergency exit may have a rusted wire, which could break when force is applied to open the exit. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 217, "Bus Emergency Exits and Window Retention and Release."

Injuries / Consequence

A broken handle wire on the emergency exit can delay passengers from exiting the vehicle during an emergency, increasing their risk of injury.

Remedy

Temsa service centers will replace the external handle wire, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 12, 2021. Owners may contact Temsa customer service at 1-800-625-9319.
