HEHR EMERGENCY EXIT WINDOWS, MODEL NOS 1401 AND 1407, FOR USE ON CERTAIN DAILMERCHRYSLER COMMERCIAL BUSES (ORION)NC MY 2002-2004 SLF BUSES, DO NOT MEET THE EMERGENCY EXIT RELEASE REQUIREMENTS AS SPECIFIED IN FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 217, BUS EMERGENCY EXITS AND WINDOW RETENSION AND RELEASE. THE WINDOWS MAY FAIL TO OPEN WHEN UNLATCHED.

IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, RAPID EGRESS MAY BE IMPAIRED, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURIES OR DEATH.

HEHR WILL NOTIFY THE CUSTOMERS OF ORION AND WILL SHIP REPAIR PARTS AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS TO THE BUS OWNERS. THE RECALL BEGAN MARCH 28, 2005.
