Description
THE ELECTRIC MOTOR POWERING THE RECLINING CHILD SEAT IS POWERED BY THE AUTOMOBILE BATTERY/AUXILLIARY POWER SYSTEM THROUGH THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER. THE WIRING USED TO CONNECT THE CHILD SEAT TO THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER OVERHEATS AND MELTS THE PLASTIC WIRE COVERING.
Injuries / Consequence
WIRING OVERHEATING AND MELTING ITS COVERING CAN RESULTIN AN INCREASED RISK OF INTERIOR COMPARTMENT FIRE.
Remedy
FBS HAS GONE OUT OF BUSINESS. THE CORRECTION WAS TO REPLACE THE GT7000 REMOTE CONTROL SEAT WITH EITHER THE GT2000 CHILD SEAT OR THE GT4000 CHILD SEAT.
