Description

RETAINER SNAP RING THAT SECURES THE PINTLE HOOK LATCH PIN MAY NOT BE PROPERLY LOCATED AND SEATED.

Injuries / Consequence

PINTLE HOOK COULD BECOME DISENGAGED FROM THE LUNETTE EYERESULTING IN SEPARATION OF THE TRAILING UNIT FROM THE LEAD TRAILER. SEPARATIONCOULD RESULT IN A CRASH.

Remedy

ASSURE THAT SNAP RING IS PROPERLY INSTALLED BT REMOVING RING, CLEANING THE MACHINED GROOVE, AND REINSTALLING SNAP RING.
