Description

THE FLANGE OF THE EXHAUST PIPE HEAT SHIELD, LOCATED AT THE OUTLET END OF THE EXHAUST PIPE, CAN CONTACT THE VEHICLE OIL PAN. THE FLANGE CAN WEAR THROUGH THE OIL PAN CAUSING AN OIL LEAK.

Injuries / Consequence

IF AN OIL LEAK OCCURS, OIL CAN CONTACT THE HEAT SHIELDAND EXHAUST PIPE. MOTOR OIL CONTACTING HOT EXHAUST COMPONENTS COULD RESULT INA VEHICLE FIRE.

Remedy

REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE EXHAUST PIPES WITH NON-DEFECTIVE PIPES.
