Description

CERTAIN COACHES WERE EQUIPPED WITH SANDY TV LIFTS.

Injuries / Consequence

THE TV LIFT CONTROLLERS CAN CAUSE A FIRE OR CAUSE SMOKE INSIDE THE INTERIOR OF THE COACH.

Remedy

DEALERS WILL RE-PROGRAM THE PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER (PLC) PROGRAM WITH A SPECIFIC RUN TIME LIMIT WHICH WILL SHUT DOWN THE MOTOR IF THE RUN TIME LIMIT IS EXCEEDED. FURTHER, THERMAL OVERLOAD PROTECTION WILL BE PROVIDED WITH THE INSTALLATION OF A THERMAL BREAKER IN THE MOTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR BOTH FORWARD AND REVERSE DIRECTION. THE RECALL BEGAN JUNE 4, 2004.
