Description

ON CERTAIN CREW CAB TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH HYDRAULIC BRAKES, THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE LINES FROM THE CHASSIS MOUNTED ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULATOR VALVE CAN BE DAMAGED BY INTERFERENCE WITH THE CAB MOUNTED AUXILIARY HEATER DUCT.

Injuries / Consequence

THIS COULD RESULT IN EXTENDED BRAKING DISTANCE, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BRAKE LINES. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON DECEMBER 26, 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT FREIGHTLINER AT 1-800-547-0712.
