Description

Thermo King is recalling certain TK486 series diesel engines, manufactured from December 9, 2011, through April 3, 2012. The engines are used in cargo trailer climate control units and generator sets. The engines contain a fuel delivery valve that may crack.

Injuries / Consequence

The fuel delivery valve may crack and leak diesel fuel. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire.

Remedy

Thermo King will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel delivery valve free of charge. The recall began on November 5, 2012. Owners may contact Thermo King customer service center at 1-952-887-2200.
