Furnace Intake Fan May Melt
Description
Trails West Manufacturing of Idaho, Inc. (Trails West) is recalling certain model year 2010-2014 RPM bumper pull recreational trailers manufactured October 2009 through January 2014 and equipped with a Suburban-brand SF-30 FQ furnace. In the affected vehicles, the plastic furnace intake fan may melt which can cause the furnace to overheat causing other plastic pieces to melt from the lack of air flow.
Injuries / Consequence
The melting and overheating could result in a trailer fire.
Remedy
Trails West Manufacturing will send to owners repair kits, with detailed inspection instructions, if damage to the intake fan is detected, the owners can take their trailer to an authorized repair facility for replacement of the furnace, free of charge. The recall began on May 12, 2014. Owners may contact Trails West Manufacturing of Idaho, Inc. at 1-208-852-2200.
