Gevalia Recalls Kaffe Combo Coffeemakers Due to Burn Hazard
Description
The recalled product is a 12-cup programmable "Kaffe Combo" coffeemaker with model number CM830 and a glass carafe and two travel mugs. The name "Gevalia" is on the front of the coffeemaker and the model number is located on the bottom of the unit. No other Gevalia coffeemakers are affected by this recall.
Injuries / Consequence
Gevalia has received 28 reports of overheated coffeemakers, including 12 reports of damaged counter tops, and one report of a minor burn from spilled coffee.
Remedy
Consumers should immediately stop using the coffeemaker and contact Gevalia for a free replacement coffeemaker. Those consumers who purchased the coffeemaker will be offered the option of receiving a refund. Gevalia is contacting all registered consumers directly.
