Description

MCNEILUS IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2010-2012 ZR TRUCKS, MANUFACTURED FROM APRIL 26, 2010, THROUGH MAY 1, 2012 FOR FAILING TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 108 “LAMPS, REFLECTIVE DEVICES AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT.” THE HAZARD WARNING LAMPS DO NOT WORK WHEN THE IGNITION IS IN THE OFF POSITION.

Injuries / Consequence

INADEQUATE LIGHTING COULD REDUCE THE VISIBILITY OF THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR A CRASH.

Remedy

MCNEILUS WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND MCNEILUS SERVICE TECHNICIANS WILL CONNECT THE HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS DIRECTLY TO THE VEHICLE’S POWER SUPPLY, FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN EARLY JUNE 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MCNEILUS AT 507-374-6321.
