Description
ON CERTAIN MOTORCYCLES, UNDER CERTAIN RIDING CONDITIONS, SUCH AS CONTINUOUSLY BUMPY ROADS, THE REAR WHEEL COULD DEVELOP STRESS CRACKS WHERE THE WHEEL SPOKES ATTACH TO THE HUB.
Injuries / Consequence
THE SPOKES WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL, CAUSING THE WHEEL TO COLLAPSE WITHOUT WARNING.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE REAR WHEEL, INCLUDING A NEW TIRE. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING SEPTEMBER 2002. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT HONDA MOTORCYCLE AT 1-800-289-8226.
