Description

ON CERTAIN TRAILERS, THE WHEEL STUD CAN FAIL AND SEPARATES AT THE BASE OF THE THREAD. THIS REDUCES CLAMP FORCE ON THE WHEEL.

Injuries / Consequence

THE STUDS SNAP OFF AND THE WHEEL AND TIRE ARE NO LONGER SECURED TO THE HUB. THE WHEEL MAY SEPARATE FROM THE TRAILER CAUSING IT TO BE A PROJECTILE ON THE HIGHWAY INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE HUBS WITH NEW STUDS FREE OF CHARGE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED AN OWNER NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE. OWNERS MAY CONTACT FOREST RIVER AT 574-389-4600.
