Description

This recall involves Ikea HYBY and LOCK ceiling lamps. The lamps have domed white frosted glass shades and three plastic clips that attach the shade to steel electrical lamp housings. The HYBY has a shade that is 15 inches in diameter and decorated with four opaque concentric lines. The lamp housing holds two light bulbs. The LOCK has a shade that is 10 inches in diameter. The lamp housing holds one light bulb. Type number and the model name of the lamps are on a label attached to the electrical lamp housing. The HYBY is type number T1011 and the LOCK is type number T0201.

Injuries / Consequence

Ikea has received 224 reports of incidents worldwide of retaining clips breaking and glass shades falling from the lamps, including with 11 injuries. Three incidents with no injuries were reported in the U.S.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ceiling lamps, uninstall them and return them to any IKEA store for a full refund.
