Incorrect Capacity on Label/FMVSS 105
Description
Lippert (Lippert) is recalling certain MTP 20K Surge Brake Couplers with part number 2023050981. The couplers may have an incorrect label stating a capacity of 20,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) when the accurate capacity is 19,000 lbs. GVWR, which can allow the brake system to be overloaded. As such, these couplers fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 105, "Hydraulic and electric brake systems."
Injuries / Consequence
