Description

Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2020 Freightliner Econic SD vehicles. The vehicle certification label contains the incorrect gross axle weight rating (GAWR) information. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 120, "Wheels and Rims- Other Than Passenger Cars."

Injuries / Consequence

The incorrect weight rating information can result in overloading of the axles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

DTNA reports that all affected vehicles have been remedied with new labels, therefore owner notifications will not be sent. The recall began November 19, 2019. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 1-800-547-0712. DTNA's number for this recall is FL-840.
