INCORRECTLY SIZED WHEEL RIMS

Description

CERTAIN TRAVEL AND FIFTH WHEEL TRAILERS WERE BUILT WITH INCORRECTLY SIZED WHEELS. THE INCORRECT WIDER RIM DOES NOT ALLOW PROPER CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE SHOCK ABSORBER, SHOCK BRACKETS, AND THE TIRE.

Injuries / Consequence

THIS REDUCED CLEARANCE MAY CAUSE THE TIRE TO RUB ON THE CHASSIS RESULTING IN TIRE FAILURE. THIS FAILURE MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy

KOMFORT WILL REPLACE THE WHEELS AND TIRES OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON OCTOBER 3, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT KOMFORT AT 1-503 722-5199.
