Description

PACCAR Incorporated (PACCAR) is recalling certain 2024 Peterbilt 537, 2024-2025 Kenworth T380, T480, Peterbilt 548, and 2025 Peterbilt 536 trucks, equipped with certain Meritor 10-16K and 18-23K front steer drive axles. The front steer drive axles may have insufficient wheel bearing lubricant.

Injuries / Consequence

Insufficient lubrication may cause the wheel hub to overheat, increasing the risk of a fire, or result in a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

Dealers will inspect and repair the wheel end with new parts and lubricate the bearings as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed July 21, 2025. Owners may contact Kenworth's customer service at 1-425-828-5888 or Peterbilt's customer service at 1-940-591-4220. PACCAR's numbers for this recall are 24KWJ and 24PBJ.
