Description
Fontaine Modification Company (Fontaine Modification) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Freightliner Business Class M2 vehicles. Welds may crack and fail, allowing the Intermediate steering shaft assembly to detach from the steering column.
Injuries / Consequence
A steering shaft that detaches can result in a loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Fontaine Modification will replace the intermediate steering shaft, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 3, 2025. Owners may contact Fontaine Modification customer service at 1-800-366-8246.
