Description

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: STRIPPED CHASSIS AND COMMERCIAL BUSES AND SCHOOL BUSES EQUIPPED WITH HYDRAULIC BRAKES AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THE MISALIGNMENT OF THE BRAKE PEDAL CAN CAUSE DELAYED BRAKE LIGHT ACTIVATION DURING LIGHT BRAKING APPLICATIONS.

Injuries / Consequence

IF THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT ACTIVATE PROPERLY, OTHER DRIVERS WOULD NOT BE AWARE OF THE BRAKE APPLICATION, WHICH COULD LEAD TO A CRASH.

Remedy

DEALERS WILL INSTALL A NEW BRAKE PEDAL. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN FEBRUARY 19, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT INTERNATIONAL AT 1-800-448-7825.
