Description

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS. THE STEERING SHAFTS MAY HAVE A DEFECTIVE OR MIS-LOCATED WELD THAT COULD FAIL.

Injuries / Consequence

THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE A COMPLETE LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Remedy

DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE LOWER STEERING SHAFT. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN SEPTEMBER 17, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT INTERNATIONAL AT 1-800-448-7825.
