Description
Meritor, Inc. (Meritor) is recalling certain MX810 Series front drive steer axles, part numbers MX23810DANC7-538 and MX23810DANC8-538, manufactured May 27, 2016, to August 16, 2016 and equipped with MX25K lower king-pins. These lower king-pins may not meet design specifications and, as a result, may fracture, possibly causing a wheel end separation.
Injuries / Consequence
A wheel end separation can cause loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Meritor will notify owners, and dealers will replace all of the lower king-pins, free of charge. The recall began on November 22, 2016. Owners may contact Meritor customer service at 1-248-435-1725.
