LIFT ARM FAILURE

Description

CERTAIN CHALLENGER TWO POST, SURFACE MOUNTED AUTOMOTIVE LIFTS, MODEL X10, MANUFACTURED BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 2005 AND AUGUST 1, 2006. THE WELD CONNECTING THE LIFT ARM TO THE PIVOT BRACKET CAN FAIL.

Injuries / Consequence

IF THE LIFT ARM WELD FAILS WHILE THE LIFT IS IN USE, A VEHICLE ON THE LIFT CAN SUDDENLY FALL, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

Remedy

CHALLENGER WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND WILL INSTALL NEW LIFT ARMS FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 16, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT CHALLENGER AT 800-890-5438.
