Description

LIFT U PLASTIC TANKS OR RESEVIORS FOR HYDRAULIC FLUID ON THE WHEELCHAIR LIFT MANUFACTURED BETWEEN AUGUST 11, 2000, AND AUGUST 16, 2002. THE PLASTIC TANK WILL MELT IF THE PUMP MOTOR OVERHEATS. THE MELTED TANK WILL DUMP HYDRAULIC FLUID AND THE EMERGENCY HAND PUMP WILL NOT FUNCTION.

Injuries / Consequence

IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY, A WHEELCHAIR PASSENGER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE LIFT TO DEBOARD THE BUS.

Remedy

LIFT U WILL NOTIFY ITS CUSTOMERS AND REPLACE THE PLASTIC TANK WITH A METAL ONE. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING NOVEMBER 2002. OWNERS WHO DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT LIFT U AT 209-838-2400.
