Description

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack Trucks) is recalling certain 2020-2021 Granite vehicles equipped with certain SL2065 steerable lift axles. The lower rear pivot cap screws may not be long enough to sufficiently engage the locking feature of the corresponding nuts.

Injuries / Consequence

The short screws can cause the hardware to separate from the suspension system and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash or injury.

Remedy

Mack Trucks will inspect the suspension system and replace the lower rear pivot cap screws, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 30, 2021. Owners may contact Mack Trucks' customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack Trucks' number for this recall is SC0426.
