Description

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOMES PRODUCED ON FORD CHASSIS. AS A RESULT OF INCORRECT INSTALLATION OF THE GAS TANK, THE GAS FILL DOOR FOR FILLING THE GAS TANK IS LOCATED WITHIN THREE FEET OF THE WATER HEATER. THIS IS IN VIOLATION OF RVIA CODE, SECTION 2.6.3.3.

Injuries / Consequence

SUBSEQUENT FILLING OF THE GAS TANK COULD ALLOW FUMES TO RISE INTO THE WATER HEATER POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A FIRE IF THE WATER HEATER IS OPERATING ON LIQUID PROPANE GAS.

Remedy

DEALERS WILL REMOVE THE FUEL TANK FOR REVERSAL, REPLACEMENT OF THE FENDER WITH THE INCORRECT FUEL FILL, AND INSTALLATION OF A NEW FILL ASSEMBLY ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE FENDER.
