Description

ON CERTAIN LOW-SPEED 2, 4, OR 6-PASSENGER SHORT, LONG AND LONG BED XD ELECTRIC VEHICLES, AN INSUFFICIENT WELD ON THE HAND PARK LEVER BRAKE ASSEMBLY (PARKING BRAKE) MAY FAIL. THIS FAILURE CAUSES A TOTAL LOSS OF PARKING BRAKE HOLD.

Injuries / Consequence

A FAILURE OF THE PARKING BRAKE WILL ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO ROLL AWAY IF IT IS PARKED ON AN INCLINE, CREATING THE RISK OF A CRASH OR INJURY.

Remedy

GEM WILL REPLACE THE PARKING BRAKE ASSEMBLY ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 26, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT GEM AT 1-866-764-0616.
