Perimeter Weather Seal May Be Compromised

Recalled: November 9, 2020 ~404 units affected 20E083

Description

First Light Safety Products (First Light) is recalling all Illuminated School Bus Stop Signs sold for IC CE, Thomas Built Bus Saf-T Liner C2 and Blue Bird Vision buses sold between April 1, 2020 and October 23, 2020. The back plate perimeter weather seal may allow contaminants to enter, affecting the sign performance. In some cases, it can cause an electrical short, which can cause the sign to be inoperable.

Injuries / Consequence

If the sign performance is inhibited, or completely inoperable, it can reduce the visibility for oncoming drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy

First Light will notify owners, and dealers will replace the back plate, free of charge. The recall began December 9, 2020 Owners may contact First Light customer service at 1-866-216-2605.
