Description

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: FIRE APPARATUS ON CERTAIN COMMERCIAL CHASSIS WITH OPTIONS FOR FUEL TANK STEP COVERS. CERTAIN VEHICLES WERE BUILT WITHOUT DRAIN HOLES IN THE ALUMINUM STEP LOCATED BELOW THE FUEL FILL OPENING.

Injuries / Consequence

SPILLED FUEL ON THE FUEL TANK STEPS CAN CREATE A SLIP HAZARD.

Remedy

DEALERS WILL DRILL HOLES IN THE STEP. THE HOLES WILL HELP DRAIN ANY FUEL THAT IS ACCIDENTALLY SPILLED ON THE STEP. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN MAY 31, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT PIERCE AT 1-888-974-3723.
